Crystal Lake, Gilmanton is located just north of Concord NH and south of Alton. The lake is 455 acres a top-quality lake with crystal clear water, sandy to a rocky shoreline. There is a public boat launch, park, and beach towards the southern end of the lake. Yearly festivals and fireworks occur during the Fourth of July and Labor Day holidays in the park on the lake. The lake is classified as a warm- and coldwater fishery, with observed species including rainbow trout, rainbow smelt, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, chain pickerel, brown bullhead, yellow perch, and sunfish. Gunstock Ski Resort is 35 minutes away, complete with cross-country trails, downhill skiing, zip line, mountain coaster and plenty of hiking trails. Shopping is close by in Alton, Concord with Outlet Stores in Tilton.
