Great East Lake is a 1,825-acre lake in Wakefield / Sanbornville NH. Part of the lake is also in Maine. This oligotrophic lake ( best water quality ) has an average depth of 35 feet and a maximum depth of 102 feet. Great East Lake has crystal clear water with a sandy to rocky shoreline. You will also find some great trout fishing and no boating restrictions. The lake is located just off Rt 16 north of Rochester and a few minutes from the Wakefield downtown where you will find a few restaurants, hardware stores, and a grocery market. There is a golf course a few minutes from the lake and King Pine Ski Area is about 20 minutes away. On a rainy day you can head over to Wolfeboro the Oldest Summer Resort in the US or north to North Conway for a day of Outlet Shopping.
