Lake Wentworth is located in the town of Wolfeboro. At 3,097 acres it is the seventh-largest lake with an average depth of 25 feet and a maximum depth of 80 feet. The lake is Oligotrophic ( best water quality ). Lake Wentworth flows through the Smith River into Crescent Lake where you will find a boat launch and docks. Public access to the lake is Wentworth State Park. The lake has 9 islands with seasonal public access to Stamp Act Island. The lake has rainbow trout, largemouth bass and white perch.
Wolfeboro is the Oldest Summer Resort in the United States. The downtown is located on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee. You will find art galleries, shops, restaurants and museums in the trendy downtown area. Wentworth is similar to Squam, you are likely to find more camps and cottages instead of new McMansions.
