Lake Sunapee Profile - Newbury - New London - Sunapee NH
Lakefront Monday highlights different lakes in New Hampshire. This page is sponsored by Lady of the Lake Realty in Meredith NH. If you want information on a lake e-mail us for lake profile or look to the bottom of the page for additional lakes.
Lake Sunapee is 4125 acres with crystal clear water. The lake has an average depth of 37 feet and a maximum depth of 105 feet with oligotrophic water quality ( best ). While skiing a Mount Sunapee I wondered why one of the trails was called the flying goose. Well here is the answer, Lake Sunapee resembles a bird (goose) in flight, with the bird's head as the harbor area, from an aerial view, and at times from Mount Sunapee.
Lake Sunapee as you drive the shoreline you will view estates from the early 1900’s to modern Adirondacks. You will not find any box stores except a Dunkin Donuts in Newbury and New London. You will find a variety of restaurants around the lake and some great golf courses.
Our slogan is Where the Lakes Meet the Mountains fits perfectly with the Sunapee area. The lake is just minutes to the base of the mountain. Boston is a 2 hour drive and Dartmouth is about 35 minutes to the north on 89.
