Bow Lake is 1149 acres with an average depth of 10 feet and a maximum of 65 feet. The lake is mesotrophic with clear water. The lake is classified as a cold and warm-water fishery, with rainbow trout, brown trout, smallmouth bass, and white perch.
This popular lake is one of the largest lakes in southern NH. It is an easy commute from Portsmouth or Manchester NH and about 1.5 hours from Boston. There are 7 islands and Bennett Island is my favorite with a Bald Eagles nest and Loons nesting to view from shore. Loon Island, Long Island, Beech Island, Pine Island, Rye Island, and York Island are the others.
Golf courses are close by and Antique Alley is located on Rt 4 in Northwood. You will find several antique stores and a great location to purchase granite counter tops. ( Bob’s Granite ).
