Stinson Lake is located in the White Mountain National Forest. With an elevation of 1332 feet, this glacial lake is 342 acres with a maximum depth of 77 feet and an average depth of 35 feet. The water is crystal clear with an oligotrophic rating ( best ). The lake offer brook trout, rainbows and lake trout fishing.
Stinson is the only lake in the White Mountain Nation Forest that allows motor boating. Hiking trails are located minutes from the lake and golf and ski areas are just a short ride away. Stinson Lake Road from Plymouth is open year-round and there is a seasonal road coming from Exit 28 on 93.
The lake is remote but only 10 minutes to shopping, restaurants and attractions in Plymouth and Campton. Plymouth is a college town offering trendy shops to box stores. I have lived in NH my whole life. The grandkids visited last weekend, we took them to Squam Lakes Science Center in Holderness and my first visit to the Polar Caves in Rumney, fun times. Winter activities include some of the best snowmobiling in the area along with ice skating and cross country skiing.
