Paugus Bay is 1227 acres. The bay is home to Marinas and Weirs Boulevard home to numerous condo developments. To the north you find the popular Southdown Shores. As you enter Paugus Bay you go by the ever-popular Weirs Beach and boardwalk. Weirs Beach is home to Laconia Bike Week where we typically see 100,000 plus bikes visit during Fathers Day weekend. The Bay is named after Chief Paugus who fought during Drummers War.
Lake Winnipesaukee is the largest lake in the New Hampshire, located in Belknap and Carroll County, aka The Lakes Region. Winnipesaukee is 44,500 acres with a maximum depth of 180 feet. There are 264 named islands, Long Island is the largest bridged island and second-largest is 704 acre Bear Island is only accessible by boat. You can leave your car in the garage for the whole summer, you can shop, get groceries, go to the movies all by boat. Hospitals are located in Laconia, Franklin, Plymouth and Wolfeboro.
