Bow Lake is 1149 acres with an average depth of 10 feet and a maximum of 65 feet. The lake is mesotrophic with clear water. The lake is classified as a cold and warm-water fishery, with rainbow trout, brown trout, smallmouth bass, and white perch.

This popular lake is one of the largest lakes in southern NH. It is an easy commute from Portsmouth or Manchester NH and about 1.5 hours from Boston. There are 7 islands and Bennett Island is my favorite with a Bald Eagles nest and Loons nesting to view from shore.  Loon Island, Long Island, Beech Island, Pine Island,  Rye Island, and  York Island are the others.

Golf courses are close by and Antique Alley is located on Rt 4 in Northwood. You will find several antique stores and a great location to purchase granite counter tops. ( Bob’s Granite ).  Bow Lake Home - Bow Lake Homes for Sale

The lake has an active successful Loon nesting program with a man-made nest set in April, eagle sightings are common also.

To the north is Alton Bay home to the southern tip of Lake Winnipesaukee.   Camp Mi-Te-Na is located in the northwestern end of the lake.  The lake association is active in checking to make sure the lake is protected for future generations.

Mount Major is just to the north one of the favorite hiking locations in NH along with Gunstock Ski Resort, a four-season resort.  One of my favorite activities is picking blueberries at the farm just located off North Barnstead Rd.

How to navigate the new Lake Home Selling Strategy! Summer 2019!

BUYERS NEED TO TAKE NOTE- YOU NEED AN AGENT TOO!

First, let me say that some of my best friends are listing agents. But, they have a job to do.

As of late, many listing agents are employing a strategy to create momentum and frenzy around new listings that is great for the Seller but not so great for Buyers.

This strategy is "No showings until OPEN HOUSE scheduled for ..."

With so few listings on the market,  this creates a frenzy with anxious Buyers rushing the property at the Open House and sometimes in an effort to win the Sale they will release standard contingencies designed for their benefit.  Releasing home inspections or other due diligence items can have a negative impact on a Buyer down the line.  Especially in the regulation-heavy waterfront market.

I recommend that serious qualified Buyers connect with a Buyer Agent and make sure that the Buyer Agent is involved in the home buying process from the beginning.

Lady of the Lake Realty has been assisting Buyers with Lakes Region purchases since 1999.  We are well versed in the rules and regulations surrounding waterfront/water-access purchases and are ready to help Buyers through the process from viewings to closing.  We can offer suggestions for waterbodies or properties that match your wish list.  With 200+ lakes and ponds in our area, there are many hidden gems that Buyers may not be aware of.
