Pemigewasset Lake is a 249-acre water body located minutes off Exit 23 on 93 in the towns of New Hampton and Meredith. This warm water lake has an average depth of 8 feet and a maximum of 29 feet.  There is an Island that is uninhabited called Kelley Island, a great location for blueberry picking late July early August.

The shoreline is dotted with summer camps and year round homes.  Much of the shoreline is open with loons nesting. In the summer you will find bass fishing in the morning around the lake and the afternoon changes to slow pontoon boat cruises to water sports.  In the winter the surface turns into a village of bob houses and snowmobiling.

In 10 minutes you can be in downtown Meredith and 30 minutes away the Outlet Stores in Tilton or skiing at Loon, Waterville, Cannon or Ragged.  You will find restaurants, hiking trails, golf and attractions minutes in any direction. Pemi Lake Homes - Profile of Pemigewassette

There are 7 islands and Bennett Island is my favorite with a Bald Eagles nest and Loons nesting to view from shore.  Loon Island, Long Island, Beech Island, Pine Island,  Rye Island, and  York Island are the others.

Golf courses are close by and Antique Alley is located on Rt 4 in Northwood. You will find several antique stores and a great location to purchase granite counter tops. ( Bob’s Granite ).  Bow Lake Home - Bow Lake Homes for Sale

The average depth is 17 and a maximum depth of 27 feet and flows into Locke Lake.  There are no motor boating restrictions but jet skis are not allowed on Saturdays for Sundays ( RSA 270:74-a  ).  Boat launches are located off Rt 28 and North Barnstead Rd. This warm water lake is mesotrophic and has largemouth bass and pickerel.

The lake has an active successful Loon nesting program with a man-made nest set in April, eagle sightings are common also.

The lake has a mix of year-round homes and cottages. The location just north of Concord makes the lake a perfect setting to commute to work. To the north is Alton Bay home to the southern tip of Lake Winnipesaukee.   Camp Mi-Te-Na is located in the northwestern end of the lake.  The lake association is active in checking to make sure the lake is protected for future generations.

Mount Major is just to the north one of the favorite hiking locations in NH along with Gunstock Ski Resort, a four-season resort.  One of my favorite activities is picking blueberries at the farm just located off North Barnstead Rd.
