Sunset Lake ( AKA Places Lake )  is located 10 minutes from Alton Bay. The lake is 253 acres with an average depth of 18 feet and a maximum depth of 78 feet. The water in this oligotrophic lake is crystal clear with a rocky to sandy shoreline. This lake is a hidden gem, homes seldom come on the market and if they do they sell quickly. To access the lake you have a steep ascent from Alton Bay with spectacular views of Winnipesaukee on the way to the lake.  

With no public access, you will not find the lake crowded with boaters and the shoreline is dotted with cottages and a few year-round homes. The scouts have a summer camp in the Gilmanton end of the lake. 

Groceries and restaurants are just a short drive into Alton. The most popular hiking trail in NH is Mount Major is 15 minutes away and Gunstock and Wolfeboro are just a 30-minute drive. You will find all the attractions Winnispeaukee has to offer at your doorstep.

Pemigewasset Lake is a 249-acre water body located minutes off Exit 23 on 93 in the towns of New Hampton and Meredith. This warm water lake has an average depth of 8 feet and a maximum of 29 feet.  There is an Island that is uninhabited called Kelley Island, a great location for blueberry picking late July early August.  

The shoreline is dotted with summer camps and year round homes.  Much of the shoreline is open with loons nesting. In the summer you will find bass fishing in the morning around the lake and the afternoon changes to slow pontoon boat cruises to water sports.  In the winter the surface turns into a village of bob houses and snowmobiling. 

In 10 minutes you can be in downtown Meredith and 30 minutes away the Outlet Stores in Tilton or skiing at Loon, Waterville, Cannon or Ragged.  You will find restaurants, hiking trails, golf and attractions minutes in any direction.

Crystal Lake is 455 acres with an average depth of 16 feet with a maximum depth of 53 feet.  The lake is Oligotrophic - best water quality with rainbow trout fishing. 

Gilmanton Iron Works is a rural town located just north of Concord NH. You will find year-round homes to cottages and condos around the lake. The water is crystal clear making it very inviting for swimming and water sports.  Motorboating is allowed along with jet skis. 

Years ago Grace Metalious wrote the scandalous book Peyton Place that caused an uproar in the town as some believed it was based on the residents.  ABC ran the show for many years.
